FHCYO runs a Music Agency which can provide a variety of small groups for wedding receptions, parties and functions, in return for a charity donation to the Friends of the Hampshire County Youth Orchestra plus expenses to the players.

The players are amongst the most talented young musicians in the county, and this is a unique way for them to raise funds to benefit their orchestra.
The Music Agency has been operating since Summer 2000. We have provided string quartets for garden parties at private homes and at National Trust properties, wedding receptions in hotels such as the Bramble Hill Hotel, Bramshaw and the Solent Yacht Club, and corporate functions at the Great Hall, Winchester and at the De Vere Hotel in Southampton. We have helped to enhance functions all over the county, from Portsmouth to the New Forest, Petersfield, Southampton, Winchester, Andover, Romsey, Basingstoke, Hook and Fleet.
We have several string quartets and string duos. Occasionally we have been asked to provide a special group, such as an Early Music ensemble, or an Edwardian ensemble. Sometimes we are able to offer a jazz group, a wind ensemble, or other combinations by special arrangement.
The members of the Hampshire County Youth Orchestra are all students, but we ask them to perform to a high standard, and to be professional in their presentation. We suggest no more than an hour’s playing time, though this can be spread over two hours. You are asked to provide suitable seating, lighting, heating or shade (as appropriate) and light refreshments for the players.
