Our Charity

Any one over 18 years old can become a member of our charity.

Fundraising is co-ordinated and administered by  the Trustees of the

Friends of The Hampshire County Youth Orchestra - Registered Charity No. 270998

The principal objective of the charity is to assist in the musical education of students at schools and colleges in Hampshire by providing financial support to the:

• Hampshire County Youth Orchestra
• Hampshire County Youth Chamber Orchestra
• Hampshire County Youth String Orchestra

This support is only given for events, projects and expenses which are not normally funded by Hampshire County Council.

Financial support to the Orchestras includes contributions towards:

• The annual residential training course 
  
• Overseas concert tours
  
• Repair and replacement of instruments
  
• Purchase and alterations of concert uniform
  
• Ensuring access is open to all
  
• Commissioning of new works 
  
• Workshops
  
• Hire of Professional soloists

Over the last 40 years the orchestras have been generously supported by a number of sponsors and benefactors.
