Our Orchestras

Hampshire County Youth Orchestra is part of Hampshire Music Service and consists of three different orchestras:

• The String Orchestra

• The County Youth Orchestra 

• The Chamber Orchestra

Rehearsals and concerts 

Rehearsals are fortnightly on Saturdays at Thornden School, Chandlers Ford during term time. 

The County Youth Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra are conducted by Carl Clausen and the String Orchestra is conducted by Brian Lloyd-Wilson.

Courses:  One week during Easter Half term at Bryanston Arts Centre, Dorset.

The Ensembles have a busy programme of concerts around the county most of which are open to the public, as well as festival appearances and collaborations with other groups.  

We have some video and audio recordings on-line.

The Orchestras have been on many International Concert Tours. 

In 2013 a tour  is being planned to Poland and Moravia.
